ESPN Partners With TNT

This "partnership" has made a mess of the Stanley Cup Playoffs this year despite some really outstanding series. Now TNT is also screwing up the NASCAR summer season.

The NHL signed the contract with both ESPN and TNT.

TNT has what 5 races and the rest are on Prime. Thats on NASCAR.

TNT’s NHL coverage is far superior than ESPN.

Yes, NHL definitely to blame for this pairing. TNT has done a better job of between-period panel discussions but their game play streaming sucks. As I write this I'm stuck in yet another endless commercial loop.

Not sure just what was on NASCAR's mind with regard to taking the races off broadcast and putting them on streaming. I see no advantage, especially with the very irritating Dale junior in the booth. It's almost as bad as trying to listen to a motor-mouthed F1 or IndyCar race.

One good thing though......my weekends are now free. No longer do I wait around to watch college football or stock car racing and this year is most probably my last watching the Stanley Cup. The highlights via Youtube will do nicely from now on.

How are you streaming? I haven’t seen any issues.

NASCAR can’t get a broadcast partner to pay what they are looking for. NBC and ESPN didn’t want the package. Fox cut back on their coverage.

How are the ratings.
Very good. Xfinity ratings on CW are up double-digits from last season, when races mostly aired on FS1 (and occasionally on regular Fox).

As always in business, the advantage is money.

Actual NASCAR fans are over the moon with the Amazon/TNT booth (Adam Alexander, Dale Jr. and Steve Letarte), and Amazon's coverage in general.
They haven't been doing the sob storylines that NBC always pulls out, and their booth actually likes each other, unlike Fox. Fewer commercials on Amazon is a bonus too.
