According to usafacts.org in 2022 the population of Midland 139K was 48.9% Hispanic 40.8 % white. These 2 groups have 89% of the population. Not a lot of diversity CHR is not doing that well nationwide.Yes I'm surprised there not more Chr or and urban station .to country to many Spanish. I would love to see more diversity.

It signed on in 1988 as urban "Foxy 106.7." It was only urban for a year. When KWES 102.1 dropped top 40 for AC "Magic 102" in 1989, it flipped to top 40, keeping the "Foxy 106.7" handle. They modified it to "Power Hits Foxy 106.7" and then moved to "Power 106.7" sometime late '92 or early '93 if I recall. How long was Foxy on the air? If my memory serves me correctly, KMMX began on a 104.7 signal before moving to 100.3.Around that 1992/1993 time period, they also LMAed the 100.3 Lamesa signal for a while -- it went from classic rock KIOL to soft AC "K-Lite" then. Of course, the 100.3 signal ended up moving to target Lubbock and moved in-market later.

It's been a while. KRIG changed called KRIL 12/18/1987 and the license for the old 1410 facility was surrendered in 2014, with the FCC canceling the license 7/17/2014.I have an old K-RIG coffee mug. I'm guessing that station has been gone for awhile
