Liz Rattoballi

Liz seems to be one of the hardest working news reporters on the radio. She does overnights, weekends, and the 5-6 am news hour on WABC. She does a great job.

But the pre-recorded intro calls her her, "Lizzy Rattoballi." Then she begins by saying, "LIZ Rattoballi, as if to correct him.

It's been going on for awhile.

We've had other threads about uncorrected errors, and people tend to defend them for various reasons, but this one is egregious IMO.

What's going on? Any thoughts?

Fault is on the production department for messing up her intro. Unless it's all a pre-arranged bit of kayfabe where she and they are all in on the joke (given it's 77WABC, very likely this is the case).

It's also the 5 a.m. hour on the weekend, which is not by any definition "prime time" for radio listenership.
 
On intro saying one thing (Lizzy) and her saying another (Liz), when her mic is turned on.

I am sure this is intentional.
I'd say her parents & some friends called her Lizzy . . . she never liked it . . . so she purposely had the intro made with Lizzy and then loudly says LIZ when her mic is turned on.

Like I said, I'd say it's intentional.

Seems like a stretch to me but you never know.
