Fairfield County New Haven Ratings Updated 07/30/25

Hard to believe WWYZ doesn't show up in the New Haven book. It certainly puts a good signal into northern New Haven County and there are country music fans there just as there are closer to Hartford. With no other country station easily received in New Haven, you'd think SOMEONE would be listening to Country 92.5 there, right?

Interesting point. If not all stations subscribe, how accurate are the figures?
Those who subscribe to the New Haven book can see exactly what WWYZ has - their redaction from publicly released numbers does not have any effect on the accuracy.

Interesting that iHeart subscribes to the Hartford book for its New Haven Hot AC WKCI, but not to the New Haven book for its Hartford country station WWYZ.

Yes, remember that Nielsen is still counting the ratings. It just doesn't make available to the public the non-subscribing commercial stations. Non-commercial stations are usually included, even though they don't subscribe.

That's why some suburban markets seem so odd. Take a look at #28 Riverside-San Bernardino. I don't know the reason but a handful of Los Angeles stations are seen in the ratings while most are not.

For instance, iHeart and Audacy have stations in that market, so they show up. But their sister stations in Los Angeles no longer do. You'd think they'd say, we're paying for our Riverside stations to be included. Why not include our LA stations too? But that doesn't happen. Meanwhile Univision has no stations in Riverside. Yet KLVE, the company's LA Spanish AC station, is up at #3 in Riverside.
