Marc Coppola On Three IHeart Stations in NYC

He's a daily host on Q. He does a weekend overnight shift at WLTW.

He's not on the schedule at KTU, so it was probably a fill-in.

Good for him. He's making money. They're all iHeart stations, so it's all in the family.

Do you think someone who is looking for a part time gig is annoyed That He is on KTU,WLTW & Q104.3 and he only fits the sound of one of those stations ?
Or you know, that between the three stations its enough for a more full-time position? Each station isn't an individual business, but they have shared budgets, union requirements, etc...

And fitting the sound is simply your personal opinion.

This is fairly normal in the industry. I have a friend who in a given week is heard on CHR, Hot AC, AC, AAA, Alternative, and Country stations in top 20 markets.

As part of tracking on iHeart's Classic Rock and AC stations nationally. Only parts of the iHeart Washington cluster are unionized so WBIG doesn't have to have as many locally based airshifts as the rest.
Marc does customized shifts for iHeart stations all over the country, and that is in addition to his national voicetracking. For years, he has done customized shifts for KGB-FM in San Diego.

You don't understand how the industry works today! There are not going to be part time gigs for these kind of shifts. iHeart owns those stations and their talent when possible is shared between stations and even other cities (as others have explained) that's how these talent folks make money these days tracking multiple stations. This has been the norm for years. If your a smart talent you get as many air shifts in various markets as you can to maximize your compensation.

Bingo! You hit the nail on the head. With rare exceptions, most are no longer hiring weekend and fill talent. They are making do with those already employed by the company. It's not 1996 anymore. It's not even 2011.
