Birmingham Jox 2 is now Jox - Tuscaloosa

It looks like the (virtually) 24/7 ESPN Radio feed on WJQX is no more. WJQX is now simulcasting the local programming heard on WJOX-FM, and based on the info from their website airing Jim Rome, then Rich Eisen (see below).

That prompted me to actually go to Cumulus' website and see if their station in Montgomery changed as well, and turns out it has. 740 is now Jox Montomery. So I guess they really did roll it out across the state as much as they could.
If only Cumulus owned stations in the Shoals and Dothan.... :)

Does this mean they may pull the plug on 690?
It looks as if ESPN radio has replaced Fox Sports on 690...or at least that's what it sounded like this morning. Given that Cumulus holds the radio rights for Auburn, UAB, the Braves and the Barons, they may need to keep the AM station around in case there's a 4-way overlap in the spring and early fall. (Although only a masochist would want to listen to the Braves this season).
