ENRIQUE SANTOS ON POWER

On my drive to the office today, and my normal radio scan, I had a chance to hear someone in the morning on 99.5 announcing that come September 2nd, Enrique Santos would be the new morning show on Power 99.5 . Interesting move .. i worked with Enrique at Univision, and he is very talented, but I don't see him working in Houston. I'm trying to think of a market outside of Miami where he has done well, and even in San Antonio he was recently removed. So now Houston will have 2 morning shows coming out of MIAMI.
I'm surprised Iheart never tried anything with him in Houston.

However he might be a good fit on Power considering the station’s particular music blend.

Where would they put him? Chatter in the past that iHeart might consider flipping 93.7 to Spanish language, but now that The Beat is beating down The Box, that idea is likely dead.

Well they have a spanish music format on HD i think on 99.1

i don't think KLOL owns the MEGA BRAND OR NAME. Nothing they can really do about it plus its mega htx thats a whole different brand/name. I'm guessing that may be a online platform or a stream maybe? or maybe events

I can think of 3 megas in Texas and at least 1 that was on the air before KLOL
And one of them may have registered it. Often when someone registers a service mark, prior heritage users must be allowed continued use. For example, the K-Love folks had to protect the Univision / HBC K-love brand and the Dallas station's usage even when they took their religious format national.

Would be crazy if they had MEGA HTX 99.5 FM 😂
We all know that Space City Broadcasting isn't the best Spanish-language broadcaster Houston has to offer, but they're not stupid.

Had it been another station, KLOL from a legal standpoint would've had the right to sue regardless or not if they have the right to the name “La Mega” in the entire state of Texas.
