Web server is returning an unknown error

Mainly for @lanceventa but also if anyone else has been experiencing it, this has popped up a few times over the past couple days for me:

Web server is returning an unknown error
Error code 520
Visit cloudflare.com for more information.

It's resolved with a reload, but seems to be some sort of bug. I'm not using VPN.

Same here, both over my home network and on my phone over T-Mobile.

IMNSHO, Cloudflare is more annoying than preventative and I don't know why sites continue to use them for security, given the inconvenience it causes.

I do some of my grocery shopping at Smart & Final, putting my orders together on their website. Even though I am logged in and making no unusual moves, Cloudflare always interrupts me at least two or three times during my session.

Those "inconveniences" also are helpful as it prevents resource heavy sites like this from overwhelming the server when there's heavy traffic and causing a complete crashi of this site and the 30+ client sites I host and manage including some significant stations and syndicated shows.

In our usage, It is a feature and not a bug.

I rather see the board have some protection then none at all. Before the "Web Hosting Talk" board added Cloudflare it was getting dropped like mad. A short inconvenience is worth it.
