Hot 97 Funk Flex Exits

Funkmaster Flex started at Hot 97 in 1992 as host/mixer of Friday Night Street Jams. In 1993, he added another show called Saturday Night Street Jams. I forgot which year, but he began hosting weeknights and has been working 6 days a week ever since. 33 years is one heck of a run. Best wishes and good luck to a New York radio legend.

DJ Enuff last day on Hot 97 is today. DJ Camillo exits Hot 97. Funk Flex starts his new show after Labor Day from 5pm-10pm. There’s your answer

a 6 hour morning show is murder... ive pulled a 7 hour shift here and its nowhere near even 10 percent as intensive as what a NYC morning show is and im worn the slap out after.

I dont are if 5am is like a best of houer from the day before andf the 10am hour is VT'd, thats still alot of work

Funkmaster Flex posted his Labor Day show ("Last 7pm Show") on YouTube: DJ FUNK FLEX
I visit NYC every few years since the 1990s. I always look forward to listening to Hot 97 with Funkmaster Flex, along with listening to Kool DJ Red Alert on 98.7 Kiss FM every time I visit, because as someone who grew up in Florida (but born in NYC & still have family there), these stations were the only place I could listen to this kind of hip hop on the radio. I have all of his "60 Minutes Of Funk" albums, including "The Tunnel", along with his singles. This is the kind of hip hop that he should be playing daily, in my opinion. Respect & congrats to Funk Flex on his new time slot.
