Hi all! I’m looking for stations that play regional (Spain, Italy, Germany, etc. no uk. I’m very familiar with music from that region) oldies music from 40’s to the 70’s but with a strong focus on the 50’s/60’s. I don’t want to hear any music from the USA. It could be from an app or through a website. Thanks in advance. I appreciate it.

There are many apps that can help you find what you are looking for. TuneIn is one of the best known. There is also RadioBox. Some lesser known apps that might be able to help you find more obscure stations include Mixlr, Radio Garden, myTuner. There are others, but this might be a good start.

For a start, go to the extensive listing of online only formats from Chérie FM in France at https://www.cheriefm.fr/webradios.

They have the French hits from several eras,

Then go to https://www.nostalgie.fr/webradios where they have French and Italian hits by style and era.

I find that those two have everything I want when I need a bit of Aznavour, Becaud, France Gall, Joe Dassin, Pooh, Rita Pavone and the rest of my favorite 60's and 70's French artists and hits.

For Italian vintage 60's/70's/80's pop music, I would recommend - Radio Italia Anni 60 - a network of frequencies throughout Italy. I google translated the website to English, if needed.

I have tried it, but they go rather deep into minimally successful songs and some that seem to be more like album cuts.

Fortunately for both the ones I mentioned and Italia Anni 60, I understand both French and Italian pretty well so I like the songs and the presentation. The Chérie and Nostalgie sites horribly want to load in English when I log on from the U.S., but I found how to set them to their real languages..

When I search TuneIn nothing comes up. I usually search in the easy listening section. And I tried all those apps with little to no success. Can you be more specific?

This is very helpful. Thank you!

That’s my biggest problem. Once I start streaming certain foreign stations the begin playing American music.

It’s strange, when I’m on Cherie FM I don’t see anything beyond the 2000’s it’s mostly contemporary music and with Nostalgie it’s all 80’s, and 90’s. Maybe I need a VPN to access more content?

Those apps are worldwide directories of radio stations that also play the stations. I figured you would just use them to search the region that you are looking for and you'd find selections of radio stations that perhaps play what you are looking for. Was that not your intent?
