Jay Towers Health Scare

https://www.insideradio.com/free/wnic-d ... f71b5.html

Towers, who helms mornings both on WNIC-FM and WJBK-TV, had a health episode while in Las vegas for the iHeart Music Festival that led to his falling and cutting his head.

He does work a pretty full schedule and has for years. Exhaustion, maybe?
The article explains exactly why it likely happened.. lack of sleep, dehydration, not enough food and water. when you get to a big event like this, you get fired up, adrenaline going, excited.. keeps you going.. but when you come off that, you can crash hard.... no pun intended

I've done long events and despite my best efforts, walk away dehydrated

Agreed. Towers has been a workhorse for years. He's helmed a local morning radio show since the mid 90s (the stations changed during this stretch) and he did weekend TV. When he was picked up to be a weekday morning anchor at the Detroit Fox affiliate, he kept his morning radio gig and must voicetrack significant portions of it, so that at least finally gave him weekends off after years of a seven day grind. He'll likely need to slow the pace a bit. Glad it didn't turn into something more serious.
