Susan Stamberg, NPR

Thanks for posting this--if you hadn't done it, I would have. I got to see (well, hear in my case) her onstage along with former Morning Edition host Bob Edwards back in, I think, 1998 when they came to Arizona State University. When I asked the young sighted lady who was with me to describe her, the response was: "She looks like a Jewish-american woman." No matter how she looked, however, she sure had a lot of personality and was very intelligent. RIP Mrs. Stamberg!
 
Susan always took her work seriously, less herself. She went through life with a sense of humor and a touch of self-deprecation. (If only others could behave the same way.)

May her memory be for a blessing.

Many Jewish American women are very attractive, have good personalities, and are very intelligent. Two words: Natalie Portman.

Let's not go down this road. There are a bunch, some of whom many people would never peg as being Jewish. One (and only one) example: Lauren Bacall, originally Betty Joan Perske from the Bronx, with parents from present-day Romania and Belarus. But we could play this game all day and you'd be astounded how many Jews are behind the Hollywood personas and studio publicity machines. Women and men. And that doesn't even touch on the broadcasting or music industries.

It's never been a secret! I'm a Jew in the media myself, or at least was one before retiring. For some reason, I never got to be an evil mastermind, or see much in the way of money from my work. Oh, well ... 😁
