Here's Draper's writing:

"SALISBURY, MD - WBOC's parent broadcast company Draper Media has announced the acquisition of six radio stations from Forever Media, expanding our community-focused programming and audience in the region."

"The newest additions to Draper Media include WDEL AM & FM and WSTW-FM in Wilmington, Delaware; WXCY-FM in Havre de Grace, Maryland; and WCEI-FM and WINX-FM serving Maryland’s Mid-Shore region...:"

Ouch. Well, I can think of worse buyers, sure. But, living on the mid-shore, this essentially finishes off any competition in this small market. If you want local news on the radio your choice is now WBOC or...WBOC.

Does WCEI just become another frequency for WBOC-FM? And WINX will get switched from country to one of the groups other formats?

I noticed last night that WBOC was now running TV ads for WCEI, "Hits that feel like home." I checked the WINX website which, like WCEI's, is now copyright 2025 Draper...no mention of a format at all!

Confident in saying WCEI is safe.

Maybe 94.3 becomes the west signal of Coast Country, it would give Easton a local signal. No idea what they do with 106.3 then, add it to the WTDK network?

I notice Steve Monz has moved from afternoons on The Duck to mornings on Big 107.7. That or The Beach might work. I do agree that Coast Country would fill more of a vacuum were it closer to Easton.

The only changes made by Draper on the former Forever stations is a new on-air lineup on WCEI and removing Westwood One from it. WINX-FM is currently all-Westwood One outside of mornings. Nothing has appeared to have changed at the Wilmington/Havre de Grace stations.

I imagine things will change at WINX and WW1 will be jettisoned at some point.

Who is the source for WAAI's programming? Long been curious about that. Nobody with 'Draper' in their name must listen to it, or else they'd have had someone fix the sloppy automation (station ID/music/weather reports all playing at the same time...every single time for years now.)

westwood one satellite

Interesting. Could they possibly re-transmit WXCY on that signal?
Cambridge and Easton are part of the Salisbury television market and Draper already has stations in the Country format there . Its Country "Coast Country" 106.3 WCEM-FM Cambridge and Classic Country 100.9 WAAI Hurlock already cover the western portion of the Eastern Shore including the areas served by WINX-FM making it redundant.

Cambridge is an over two hour drive to Havre de Grace without traffic, slightly less to their Wilmington DE studios. There's nothing that would make WXCY relevant to that area.

Thanks. I obviously don't know the geography very well there. Perhaps flip the AC station to Hot AC and do Classic Hits on WINX?

Maybe WCEIs format moves closer to WBOC, but I can't see them changing CEI otherwise. Strong brand in the mid-shore.

Classic hits is already on The Duck, no sense doing that on WINX.
