When will YouTube TV start carrying C-SPAN?

At the beginning of September, YouTube TV announced a deal to carry all three C-Span channels in its basic lineup. Google's AI seems to think it's already happened, but AFAIK, it hasn't as of today. Anyone know if the deal is still on and when the channels will be added? I can't find one piece of news outside of the initial stories nearly two months ago. (No "Who watches C-SPAN" snark, please. Unbiased, unfiltered coverage of Washington is rare these days.)

I vaguely recall this story, but like you, haven't heard any updates. The thing to keep in mind is that C-SPAN is a service of the Cable TV industry. Satellite providers licensed it also, though I don't know if it was a cash-for-play arrangement or if DirecTV and Dish joined the CTV consortium in order to have access to those channels. It may be that Youtube didn't join, and the members objected to letting them into their tent.

Under the best of circumstances, getting the Cable MSOs to agree on anything is akin to herding cats. More often they're like feral raccoons.

Here's AP's original story, which hasn't been updated. Other stories from other sources give a vague "sometime this fall" as a starting date, others report that carriage has started, ignoring reality. So we wait, perhaps until the official end of autumn, in December.

Note that Hulu is part of this supposedly done deal, too. I don't subscribe to that service. Can you or anyone else here see whether C-SPAN has started there?

I realize it's not, at all, a desirable response to your legitimate inquiry, CT, but I send this clip from Texas with love, and hope it helps to give you a brief scratch to that...there itchin'.

I'm currently on a trial subscription and just checked. I see no evidence that C-SPAN is (or ever was) streaming on Hulu.

I thought C-SPAN streamed for free, or at least it used to. Currently subbed to YouTube Premium but doubt that’s apart of the deal when it happens. I listen to WCSP sometimes, the HD sub-channels carry audio of TV channels 1 and 2.

All 3 C-Span channels are on the C-Span website but a message on the website says, “You must log in with your television provider in order to view the C-SPAN Live Streams.”

They have some clips and past live streams on regular YouTube, this is one of my favorites:

C-SPAN has a free app called C-SPAN Select available in the suite of apps that come with a subscription to Xfinity's internet service, and, I assume, other ISPs. It carries all sessions of the House and Senate and the daily morning interview show, "Washington Journal," live. But the committee meetings, diplomatic events, away-from-Washington stuff, book discussions, etc., that fill out the schedules of the three C-SPAN networks are largely available only as highlights or not made available at all.

Did anybody else catch some of the references in that call, such as "$14.88", "13/50", and "yellow fever"?

Hope this isn't too political to bring up on the forum, but it just jumped out at me.
