Q99-7 Hires New PD

Radio Insight is reporting that Cumulus has hired a new PD for Q99-7. His name is Patrick Davis, and he sounds like he's very well qualified. He was SVP/Programming at iHeart/Dallas's very successful cluster, which includes the highly-regarded CHR 106.1 Kiss FM. He got caught in the iHeart RIF last November. Leslie Whittle, who has been programming both Q99-7 and KRBE/Houston, will continue with KRBE.

Davis is quoted about "plans to introduce a terrific new morning show." Waiting with bated breath to hear what that turns out to be.

"McKee in the Morning" with Yetta?

Will it even be local. Will cumulus even want to spend money. Bert had to go syndicated.

Given the incredible popularity of the Bert Show, it would be difficult to put on a syndicated show that did not originate from Atlanta.

Cumulus programming chief Brian Philips is reputed to be kind of brilliant, and I’m sure he’ll play a a big part in putting together the new show.
