The Fox 2026-27 Season Thread

Not sure I'd say "again", as I wouldn't count the movie with Will Farrell, that was a movie about making a reboot. This is the first real reboot to make it to air if it makes it. Sounds like they are taking the "Bel-Air" path as an hour long (drama?) show rather than a comedy. Although a major part of the show has to be comedic, if Sam's aunts and uncles are all serious witches I don't know how long it will last.

FOX sets Mid season schedule. The Simpsons to celebrate 800 episodes and air the season finale all in one night.

Here it is:

That's early in the TV season to have a season finale.

As broadcast TV chases fewer ad and retransmission dollars, the seasons are going to get shorter and the shows are going to get even more low budget. Within the next few years I won't be at all surprised to see a "fall" season and a "spring" season, each with 12 or fewer episodes for shows.

You are also starting to see networks who own streamers, which is everyone EXCEPT Fox, they are re-using their streaming programming to fill prime time network hours.

Fox owns Tubi so if they ever get in a pinch they could probably air Tubi Originals on Fox. Doc is the only show in Primetime that I know of that has a 22 episode season, while others like Shifting Gears and Greys Anatomy have 13-20 episodes.
