93.9 Myrtle Beach

When did 93.9 flip from country? Now it just a mix of recurrent hip hop, r&b, and pop music known as "93.9 the vibe." IMO it sounds like a mess
 
What all are they playing and what is their imaging? I can't find anything online about it. I remember 2 years ago 93.9 became classic Alt as "The Coast" for a short bit before returning to country.

Urban music such as hip hop, adult R&B, and rhythmic top 40 music, and some music that has probably never been played on the radio. Known as "93.9 the Vibe" WGLD-FM. Yeah there aren't any updates on any site to my knowledge

What Myrtle Beach needs is a true adult R&B that isn't mostly Motown and doo-wop.

The station needs to turn over those calls to an actual oldies station. There are two in the area still called Carolina Gold.

Carolina Gold is streaming only online. It's been like that for the last few years now.
 
So no change at WYAY?

I should have looked up WYAY and seen that it did change from oldies to country. But this latest change on WGLD-FM wasn't on Wikipedia. It is now.

It's just the Georgetown station at 93.7 that is still oldies. I had assumed the Bolivia station was too.
 
To @lanceventa, I agree with you. Most of the entries on Wikipedia are big time outdated. If I tried to correct them, it would take an eternity. Tried to update some recently but due to conflicts with their editors, I backed away and no longer do it.

I looked this up and WGTN and WPIF were also sold to the same organization.

This is terrible because both those stations were serving their communities. WPIF was technically a Georgetown station but was serving Pawley's Island. GNN does nothing but preach and play music, the same programming everywhere with nothing local, as far as I've been able to determine.

All updated on Wikipedia now. No one reported any of this here and it didn't get put on Wikipedia until now. Usually people are quick to update Wikipedia when something happens in radio.
