Lineup Changes at 94.7 The Wave

I note no replacement announced for nights ...

Who was doing middays before these changes?

If you read the linked article, it very clearly reports that Liz Hernandez moved from mornings when Greg Mack moved there from weekends last month.

Yes, Liz is handling middays following these changes.

I want to know who was handling middays prior to these changes taking effect. That info is not mentioned in the article (I just read it again to be sure).

According to this article at RadioInsight, when Hernandez joined the station in 2022 she was on 6:00am to noon. My recollection is that Deborah Howell was also doing a six-hour shift then, from noon to 6:00pm.

So it would appear that Greg Mack moving to mornings last month readjusted the shift lengths, with there now being an actual midday shift again.

Therefore, the answer to your question is: No one.

I very much appreciate the informative and detailed reply.

They haven't had a midday jock (9am-2pm) since 2019 when Talaya Trigueros left.

As for nights Maggie Mckay and Tami Heide are rotating nights

KTWV had a great ratings report in the most recent Nielsen. According to the Research Director, The Wave is top five in all the major demographics.

18-49 ... #3
18-34 ... #4
25-54 ... #5 tie

So why mess with success? The shifts had been

6 a.m. to 12 p.m. ... Liz Hernandez
12 p.m. to 6 p.m. ... Deborah Howell
6 p.m. to 12 a.m. ... Frankie Ross

(I assume some of these six hour shifts were voicetracked for some hours.)

Now it's

6 a.m. to 10 a.m. ... Greg Mack
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ... Liz Hernandez
2 p.m. to 7 p.m. ... Frankie Ross
7 p.m. to 12 a.m. ... Maggie McKay or Tami Heide

This means Deborah Howell is out. Too bad, she sounds great! I met Deborah a couple of times when she was Deborah Rath in NYC, working for Hot 97 and CD 101.9. She was married to a co-worker of mine at the time. So if The Wave is top 5 in all the major demos, why ditch the afternoon DJ? A few years ago The Wave got rid of longtime midday host Talaya Trigueros but she got afternoons on Watercolors, the smooth jazz channel on Sirius XM.

Speaking of "computers".......Listening to "Channel Q" on an HD 2 channel and it started sounding like an old Max Headroom bit......stuttering, skipping feed, hiccuping. Music stopped for a couple of seconds, I assume for someone to give the computer a "boot to the head", and came back fine till about the next song. Since it's coming from the West coast, I assumed an earthquake might have been going on to cause that issue but who knows? Or maybe somebody dancing too hard in the studio and gave the computer rack one booty bump too many. [Which was actually sort of an old line I used at a disco station back in the 70s when the 12" single started skipping: "Ok, somebody out there was dancing and bumped into their radio and made my record skip." Two listeners called in and apologized. I was sorta stunned that someone actually thought that could happen but then again it was disco so that might explain it.]

Could be a computer playback glitch or a corrupted .wav file ...
