Reno/Carson City Xtasis Radio Reno Done

A post in a facebook group "you know you worked in radio when" says "everything must go, another station bites the bust" and has the Xtasis radio logo on a banner on the wall with a further comment in a thread, "its an AM FM combo in Reno. Owner is in AZ and couldn’t find a sales staff so he gave up on it."

I wonder if this will include the Radio Xtasis signals in Phoenix?

I was about to ask why KNNR's stream was down. Now my question has been answered.

This is such disappointing news. Hopefully this isn't the end of the Radio Xtasis format.

I'm trying to find the Facebook post to confirm this. Can you post the link?

its in the group, i saw it the day this was posted, no idea if its still there, i cant imagine why it was deleted... b ut i dont care to go search for it.

If anyone is in Reno, can they see what's on the 94.9 translator? That is owned by Evans and leased to KNNR. I see the former "X94.9" AAA format is streaming but have no idea if it has returned or if it remained on KRAT-HD2 and streaming this whole time.

Looks like KNNR is online for the first time in nearly 2 weeks. I also messaged the Radio Xtasis Facebook page about K241CS 96.1 FM Phoenix apparently being off the air too, so I wonder if they fixed that as well.

Didn't think I would be posting another update about this station, but here we are. The KNNR stream has been de-listed from the Securenet Systems website and the link to it has been removed from KXEG's Securenet stream. Not to mention, KNNR 1400 is off the air as of yesterday(?). So far, I don't have any further information, but all signs point to the shutdown of Radio Xtasis in Reno. I will update you all if/when any Silent STA's are filed or if the station is put up for sale.

KNNR and it's FM Translator have filed to go silent.
Due to technical issues and the need to implement a different means of delivering the KNNR audio, the licensee has taken the station and FM Translator K277DL silent as of February 5, 2026. Efforts to address the situation are ongoing.

That's a shocker to absolutely no one. Although now I'm confused about the Facebook post I and SomeRadioGuy mentioned. Maybe they're moving studios or something? I'm really not sure

Does anyone know what 94.9 K235DC Reno, 94.1 KDJJ Fernley/Fallon, or 101.1 KPKK Amargosa Valley are currently broadcasting? These were all simulcasting Radio Xtasis at one point in time, but I suspect they are now broadcasting other formats with KNNR having gone silent.

As of this afternoon, I'm noticing some increase in activity on 1400khz listening to the KM6CQ KiwiSDR. There's a lot of noise on this SDR normally, so it's hard to tell if this is just more noise or if KNNR is back on with a carrier signal.

Is there anyone physically in the Reno area that can confirm whether or not what I'm saying is correct?

This Just In: The icon at the top of the screen on radioxtasis.com promoting the Reno station is now gone. Only the icon for 96.1/1280 Phoenix remains. Station management has yet to do anything with the remaining mentions of 94.9 FM Reno across their website.

At this point, my prediction is one of two things: Silver State Broadcasting intends to sell (most likely) or change format (less likely, but still possible).

Zelus is involved in some form in the operations of Phoenix now. Not sure what the actual arrangement is, but that's also why their 96.1 in the east valley and KZON-HD3 are carrying Xtasis. The station is also running from Zelus' offices.

I thought Don Brown was only leasing the HD3 channel and East Valley translator. I had no idea Zelus had their hand further into station operations. Very interesting to hear that.
