Is Classic Rock 101.1 going away?

From what Lance’s article says, this is the new format. I can’t see it going anywhere. They’re not going to take down 92.5 or 100.5 from iHeart. The imaging is horrible.

Edit: now they’re playing “Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash. This is just…. Odd.

Stunt could be 3 m̶i̶n̶u̶t̶e̶s̶, 3 hours, 3 days, 3 weeks,
maybe 3 months, but hopefully not 3 more years.

Bad Groundhog Day prediction over here ... 🦦
Oh Deer (buck) ...🦌

... "Guaranteed Animal" ... 🤣

Sounds like Jan 1st 1995 all over with three country stations if this is the real format!!!
The all-new Q Country. That actually got off to a good start, as far as imaging and music, but never went anywhere in the market. Some surmised that there needed to be a clean break before something like The Planet launched. Hate to say this, but I don't listen to local radio in this market anymore except maybe occasionally X-98.5. There just simply is nothing to listen to. With apps like Simple Radio, there's plenty of radio choices if I want radio (Rewound Radio on as I type this).

Regardless of the image issue, WROQ is going to run into a serious signals issue when competing with the two Iheart stations in the area plus WKSF (also owned by IHeart) in the Asheville market.

As to the format itself, I believe there is an adult hits type country format called Hank-FM that has been installed at a few stations that plays country from the 1970s until today. Perhaps this is what "Big Buck Country" is going after?

Anyway, goodbye for now the idea of AC returning to the Greenville-Spartanburg market...

This is one of the dumbest format ideas I’ve seen. Charleston had 92.5, 96.9, 98.5 and 103.5 all running country for years but 98.5 was a translator and had classic country.

They forgot about 99.9 even and those living in the eastern part of the market can get 96.9 or 103.7 from Charlotte.

Even FM sports would have been better.

Charleston had too much country?, yeah that "The Block" rap format would be better on that 101.1 frequency

Or put The Block on 101.1. Or go Urban AC. Honestly, anything would work better than this disaster unless they’re trying to build a “male wall” for sales with Planet, Country, Fan, Block, WORD, and Upstate Red.
