Boston 25 has way too much news

I just realized that WFXT has more news than any other channel. Even more than WHDH. It looks like the only time they don't have news is during the 2pm hour when they air TMZ Live, the 7pm hour when they have prime access, during Fox primetime programming, and National News Tonight (which is news) after the 11pm news. Every other time of day they have news. Is it all live??

No. I don't think all of them are live. However, I can't tell which ones are live and which ones aren't.

One trick is to look at the weather graphics. Radar usually loops a couple hours past to current (or just the live status), with the time stamp. Or even some "current conditions" will show "current" time.

They will be taking a break from news on Christmas morning. From 5am-noon, they will be airing their annual Yule Log. I think it's one of the only stations that still does it.

I had thought the same thing about Tegna's FOX 61 in Hartford. Then in February they began making cuts. In February they cut the Saturday/Sunday editions of the FOX 61 Morning News which was airing 6AM-9AM. They changed the times of their E/I programming and added more Infomercials along with a new hour long show on Sundays called "Fox 61News Featured".

Then several months ago they cut an hour off the FOX 61 Morning News. It had been airing 4AM-11AM and now airs 5AM-11AM. The 4AM-5AM hour is now a repeat of The FOX 61 10PM News even though program listing still lists ir as The FOX 61 Morning News.

The Yule Log originated on WPIX TV in NY. I remember watching it growing up in NY. It started in 1966, went off in 1989 and came back in the 2000's. The idea was to give viewers in NY who lived in apartments that didn't have fireplaces a Christmas feel. It is seen in some cities locally in addition to WPIX. It is also on Antenna TV nationally. Is Boston 25 taking this broadcast or is it a different telecast.? There is a website The Yule Log.com which gives a full history of this yule log.
