I'm glad you started one up again! You missed another important local that's also missing... Telemundo via KCSO Channel 33.

Who was the provider? Also, all HD or a mix?

I would like to gain permission for use of this lineup for TVCL: TV Channel Lists.

1. Oops. I was typing this up after a nine-hour drive from L.A. I got in pretty late, so I was tired.

2. Not sure of the provider.

3. All HD.

4. Permission granted.

I appreciate it! I like taking these lineups and make them more visual for TVCL.

And meanwhile, the trend in the job I work for (vacation rental cleaning) is Rokus, Rokus, Rokus. Smart TVs where guests log in with their own credentials to Netflix, Apple TV, etc. I'd say less than 1/3rd of the 100+ properties have Sparklight cable or satellite TV access.
A few McCall properties have YouTube TV, so guests can get live feeds of KBOI, KTVB, KAID, KIVI and KNIN.

This may become a hotel "new normal" too. Just a ton of Rokus at the Hampton Inn or Best Western with streaming access only, no cable, no satellite. Just 200 of the "binge watch" channels - the Family Feud channel, the Dateline channel, the Xena channel, etc. and of course, ION is on Roku streaming.
We have to test the TVs and make sure they work. Those that have Samsung TV Plus streaming networks also carry Stingray music channels. They have 24/7 smooth jazz on channel 4475. I normally work by myself, so I am very satisfied with the Adam Hawley, Dave Koz and Spyro Gyra as I clean the bathrooms.

There's a motel in Davis, WV that doesn't have "regular" television. They're all smart TVs to be used in tandem with your device.

The Billy Motel & Bar

Yep, “regular” TV (antenna/cable/satellite) is becoming a thing of the past for hotels, too, due to the blind rush to streaming.
But what about people who are traveling and want to watch their familar network shows, on whatever channel they might be on in the area they're visiting? If they have a device and a streaming service that carries their home network affiliates, they'd probably be geofenced.

Though they had relocated and were not merely traveling, when my parents moved to Myrtle Beach in the 1990s, they'd always ask me "which ones are 3, 8, and 13 here?" (WSAZ, WCHS, and WOWK in the Charleston-Huntington market where they'd lived prior).

I went to a hotel in Orlando last October, and compared to a year ago when it did have Spectrum, it was replaced with Google TV but I think they were making the switch to Roku boxes instead.

The point being... more hotels are starting to adopt streaming devices to get rid of cable TV because of the cost.

Makes sense -- and I've even recently seen a hotel or two in the Denver area install MATV antennas on their roof in an obvious attempt to cut back on CATV costs.

How do these Rokus do with sports channels? Just the basics, as was often the case with hotel cable, or just about everything?

The answer was in the post you replied to - "guests log in with their own credentials." It's whatever the guest subscribes to on their own account.

But there are "TVs" or monitors or whatever you want to call them in the rooms, right? What if you're a dinosaur and have no personal internet accounts at home, just a plain old over-the-air television with a plain old antenna? Are you stuck in the hotel with zilch to watch?

Roku boxes won't get ESPN, ESPN2, etc., but they get CBS Sports HQ (streaming 24/7) and a few specialty sports channels, including one channel with non-stop NFL highlights.
It will be interesting to see what happens with many sports franchises moving selected games to OTA partners.

Cambria, CA (Santa Barbara-Santa Maria-San Luis Obispo DMA)
Provider: DirecTV

Channel lineup card is at the bottom of this post. The following info is outdated:

  • CBS, listed as channel 12 (KCOY), is carried on channel 4 (labeled KEYT-D2 in the EPG); since the CBS affiliation is on KEYT 3-2. Telemundo is now on 12.
  • CW, listed as channel 7, is left over from when the CW affiliation was on KSBY 6-2. Channel 7 is no longer tunable, nor could I find the CW anywhere in the EPG.
  • KTAS (channel 33), listed as Telemundo, now carries Estrella TV.

*PBS on 65 is a national feed, since the SB-SM-SLO market doesn’t have its own PBS station.

Only three sports channels -- ESPN, ESPN2 and FS1?

It's kind of strange that a state as "progressive" as California wouldn't have in-market origination of PBS in at least five of its television markets (Salinas-Monterey, Santa Barbara, Bakersfield, Palm Springs, and Yuma-El Centro).

Back in the day, KQED had a network of translators throughout the Central Coast and the San Joaquin Valley. The Central California edition of TV Guide contained a huge list of KQED translators.
