What ever happened to WCTF?

I believe that building housed its offices and studios before Family Radio acquired it and it ended all local programming. It's been 100 percent satellite-fed Family Radio programming for a long time, but I'm unsure if there's any physical presence left in Connecticut outside of the transmitter and antenna. Maybe a computer in a closet somewhere, but information is scarce.

Wikipedia says it is silent but doesn't give details about why it's no longer operating or when it went dark.

I'm sure Family Radio didn't get many donations from that part of Connecticut. Maybe it needed work and Family Radio didn't see the need to do the repairs for a 1000-watt daytimer? Or maybe the expense of maintaining it was too high?

Right, and right.

WCTF has been silent since last spring, for both technical and financial reasons. The FCC granted them the usual 6 month reprieve, and Family applied for an extension in November.
