Iowa KQBV Adel silent

Iowa Catholic Radio's KQBV has filed a silent notification and a request for a silent STA with the FCC. KQBV cites the loss of the station's transmitter site for the station's present status. The filings state that the station signed off yesterday (January 6). KQBV was one of nine FM stations owned by Iowa Catholic Radio's parent company. Much of KQBV's coverage area is also served by sister station KIHS in Perry.

Since KIHS is now on the air I assume KQBV will be deleted?
I think that is yet to be determined, but is likely.

The tower it was on was owned by SBA, and also hosted a satellator which left the tower in December. The tower used to host microwave paths between Des Moines and Omaha, including a video link between Hearst stations KCCI and KETV.

The site used to sit in a cow pasture. A few years ago, the pasture was sold to developers and a neighborhood of McMansions popped up around the tower. The lease SBA had with the landowner apparently was not renewed, so the tower could be dropped and the rest of the land developed.
