Did KCTI AM go under again?

KCTI 1450 has been off the air for over a year now. Also 92.5 has also been off. Are they gone again?

No one in Gonzales is Cradling Texas Independence anymore, eh?

After around 70 years of continuous service, as a local voice to Gonzales, ithe revenue just kept on drying up. That's precisely why Gonzales Communications closed up shop and cashed out.

If a local outfit, who knew the city and county of Gonzales backwards and forwards, couldn't continue to operate in the black, then an outfit like Sun Radio never really stood a chance. Bad AM, pipsqueak translator, and programming not suited for a little, old, firmly red county like Gonzales.

Sun Radio shows that the facility was, briefly, returned to the air last July. If so, Jason, the calendar was reset and they have until this July to, briefly, light it up again.

This was always an interesting listen for me back in the day. One of the, if not the last station, to dedicate an entire Sunday afternoon to polka music.

Yep My favorite and what got me starting to listen to polka music was KCTI and the old KHLT AM 1520.

KCTI came back sometime last week 1450 AM. The 92.5 FM was still off the air.
