CPB grants $2.9M to American Public Television for distributing local programs nationwide

Actually the funding is for APT directly to assist with distribution of programming. In the same way they funded the new radio distribution group.


Through CPB support, APT will develop an innovative partnership model that brings together stations with proven production capacity, many of which have not historically collaborated on national programming, to expand opportunities for system-produced content.
 
So CPB is not out of business yet?

I asked this because I noticed they were still listed as supporting "Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates".

CPB isn't a business. Programs that received funding will continue to air funding announcements because that funding happened earlier.
