Tejano on 106.5 in DFW?

Have been advised that a Tejano format is airing on 106.5 in DFW, presumably K293CM running nine watts from one of the Cedar Hill towers.

I’m not in DFW, so can anyone confirm this?

Radio Jalapeño's former station, 1700, has returned to the air, but without the Tejano. That, I can hear here. It's now Spanish Christian "Formula". Might just be connected, 🐸 Perhaps a case of "You vatos take the Tejano music, and we here at Claro will provide the oracion." at work here.

🤷

One commenter on the thread said its based out of Lubbock, but the page responded "Its out of Houston"

A nine watt translator from Cedar Hill would have about a 35 dbu signal in Keller, while first adjacent Class C KZZA (106.7) would be at approximately 75.

That would be a signal delta of more than 40 dbu on adjacent channels. I'm not doubting you can hear it... but something isn't quite adding up.

They are also operating a translator on 95.3 and covering up our signal at the High Five. This group is definitely not operating on the up and up

Never have and never will. They don't care. It's always been a slap on the wrist, here, and a finger wag, there, from the FCC.

If they ever find a set, here's looking at you Brendan Carr, and start revoking a couple of the licenses held by these pests, this crap would cease quick, fast, and in a hurry.

Ah, but unlike the Hokey Pokey, that ain't what it's all about.

Don’t assume it’s actually running nine watts.🤔😧

It would appear that DFW translators are becoming Houstonized.😖
as i said above, well the translator is owned by a Guel… need i say anymore?

Do the translators on 95.3 and 106.5 in DFW have originating stations?

No?🤔

Do they appear to have signals that are too good to be true?😳

Yes?

You’ve been HOUSTONIZED.🤯🤪🤣

For decades the FCC has depended on private party complaints in order to initiate action on this kind of violation. If no party files a complaint it is generally unlikely that the commission will initiate any action on its own.

For many, many years in Houston, none of the Spanish language broadcasters complained about such out of compliance operations; they had received back channel feedback that if anyone of the legal stations filed complaints that they would populate the FCC with all manner of complaints and objections. And it was very clear that they would play the “ race card” quite amply in such complaints.
