150-152 Mhz Broadcast

I was looking at Australian broadcast listings and I find stations listed for AM, FM. DAN, and in the range 151-152 MHz. They appear to be ethnic. I did not know that was a broadcast allocation. And who would have equipment, other than a scanner, to receive it.

Can you provide a link? I had a listing of such stations bookmarked a few years back, but that has disappeared. You really have to dig for relevant information, and I’m not sure these stations are still on the air. I don’t recall ever seeing any listings for these services in the World Radio TV Handbook.

There appear to be three small allocations for such stations in Australia, around 70, 77, and 151-152 MHz. They supposedly use narrowband FM modulation, similar to the two-way radios common on VHF frequencies.

I have seen websites in the past for stations on 77.4 MHz in both the Gold Coast and Perth markets. These could be received on radios that tune the combined Japanese and CCIR FM bands (76-108 MHz).
