Casey Bartholomew Out At WBAP

What a horrible way to get terminated. It’s interesting that he cites his results. In today’s environment, if those results can’t be monetized, it doesn’t make a difference.

Agreed that it doesn't seem to be handled well. Be careful on the results cited though, the numbers can be spun pretty easily.

I've been a regular listener of WBAP sine the "Broadcast Hill" days.

I'm not sure the weekday lineup has ever been weaker than it is today.

I've tried listening. It's the same old copy and paste conservative talk station. The callers are about 80 years old. Nothing new to see here.

I worked with Casey in St. Louis and in Detroit. He isn't bad - in fact his stuff on WBAP is the strongest I've ever heard from him. That isn't the issue. The issue is that we've been over saturated with stale, angry white guys for too long. That's why people gravitate to Rogan, Theo Von, Huberman, etc. People who have fun and people who aren't afraid to agree with the other side OR (more importantly) QUESTION THIS SIDE.

Think about it, talk radio has not changed it's model since the late 80's/early 90's. It's the same sh*t every hour, every day, every week.

Erick Erickson would be a good addition to DFW. He is ascendant and definitely conservative, but brings more nuance to the conversation with solid, original analysis that is missing on a lot of canned conservative talk shows, that mostly just repeat each other all day.

He is also very willing to criticize his own side and the president when they are wrong and he has a good time mixing in talk about cooking and recipes, theology, and sports. Interestingly, I think he is a pretty big Theo Von fan.
