Charlotte Ratings Holiday 2025

First full month of all the Radio One station changes. WBT's share was about the same, but the cume increased by quite a bit. I'm sure their share will increase this month because the listeners have been forced off 1110 and all of the advertising. Praise didn't drop as much as I thought they would for such poor signal. WLNK was down to a 0.6 with only 89,900 cume. Ouch.

So the big change at 107.9 may have helped WBT but has hurt Mix since the move? Perhaps they need more advertising promoting the Mix move to 99.3 and 100.9.

Yikes @ Mix. Considering they’re a Charlotte and southern burbs station now, I expected a drop losing the coverage to the north, but the frequency change plus Christmas music on K104 and Lake was a bit of a gut punch to them. Those numbers are brutal.

Praise did better because the 102.5 signal covers their core audience fairly well.

Maybe Radio One should acquire a stronger total market signal for the Mix station. Although I don't know what that would be, and if they are at the ownership limit they might have to sell either 100.9 or 99.3 if they acquired another station. And looks like they need better promotion, as they are heavily advertising WBT at 107.9 but not the Mix format. And 105.3 is very successful so I don't see them switching that to Mix. Or would they be allowed to boost power on either 99.3 or 100.9 and move to one of the Gaston towers or Crowder's Mountain? Or are they locked in as they are?

Radio One will not go buying signals for the Mix format. I hate to say it, but my prediction is within a year Mix is being run out of a closet with no personalities, even if the ratings improve. They’re spending a lot for two signals that don’t cover all of the market.

102.5 changed hosts to WOSF-HD2 because WFNZ initially kept the 610 simulcast after moving to 92.7. They can technically be listed as either WPZS or WOSF-HD2. Same difference.
I also forgot that this would be a better comparison. I don't know whether the drop for WLNK refers to the ratings that go with the letters or the frequency.

The past ratings follow the format. There is one exception, the last 3 books for Praise follow the format, but the 3 before that are The Block’s numbers. Don’t know why that one is showing up differently.
