Outspoken will now air from 2-6PM after Dave Ramsey & former co-host with Chris Merrill, Joe Huizenga, joins Becky Lynn from 6-7PM for Arizona's Evening News. KTAR News 92.3 FM revamps show lineup - KTAR.com
A one hour evening news block other than on 24/7 all-news stations? I thought that went out with Lowell Thomas, 50 years ago.Chris & the Board Op show never gained traction, so moving Gaydos & St James up makes sense. But does anyone listen to an hour news block at 6pm? Been there, done that KTAR. It's just filling a gap before Chad Benson.

Nurse Jeff will be gathering petitions to remove Rice & Beans from the daytime lineup. And of course, you may sign as many times as. you'd like. Just look for the '76 Gremlin & the Nurse when you're visiting Buckeye.Meanwhile, Bonneville still can't quit the rice & beans. The #1 complaint I hear about this station: Why is beans & rice still on the schedule?
True dat. The hour of news at 6pm is just a filler til they figure out a long term strategery.Nobody listens to 92.3 for the news. If they do listen to any station for news, they listen to 91.5 (either on NPR or scant local programming.)
Sounds like a promotion for Merrill.ICYW, Chris Merill will be hosting middays on KFI in Los Angeles starting Monday from 12-3 with Michael Monks. KFI Sets Lineup Revamp With Addition of Monks & Merrill In Middays
Let's see, going from KTAR to KFI in the #2 market, yes, I'd say that's a step up! šSounds like a promotion for Merrill.
It certainly is a step up. Originally, the rumor was he'd fill the evening slot left by Mo Kelly just before Coast-to-Coast AM, but doing middays is better. The way he sounded announcing his depature on KTAR stating it was a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity", I think he'd take the 5-6 hour drive or 1-hour flight & move to Southern California.Let's see, going from KTAR to KFI in the #2 market, yes, I'd say that's a step up! š
I wonder if he'll be doing the show from Phoenix?
Yes, but is it really? No offense, I wish him well but that is still one of the most overused cliches ever - especially in the content of commercial radio. Nothing, absolutely nothing, is a - add your own air quotes - "once in a lifetime" opportunity. The folks reviewing your resume could likely be realtors or accountants in a few years. If you wait it out long enough, you'll luck out with another offer."once-in-a-lifetime opportunity"
