KRDP Vandalism/Theft

Not a run of good luck for Desert Soul Media. It looks like the FCC turned down their Tolling request for KRPJ (CP) Wickenburg 91.9 C2. The NCE CP thus expires - correct?

Most likely will be cancelled. It was actually their second tolling request, FCC did give them an extra 2 months from its earlier December expiration date. FCC is pretty tough on granting extensions after allowing 3 years to build a CP. Guessing they had trouble raising the money to get it built. Shame really.

A couple days before the second tolling request, they were approved for a modification to change the antenna to Horizontal Polarization only at a slightly lower height (I guess they didn't have room on the tower for the Circular Polarization antenna originally specified). That change would make an already marginal signal battling with other same-channel NCE stations, translators, and a Central Phoenix LPFM construction permit even more difficult to pick up.

We'll see where it goes.
