Unless someone sends this thread to HER, I'll hold my apology.
Seems to me that you better stay on Mike's and my good side, or one of us just might. 🤪

I enjoy her show because it's not "the same old thing" on other radio stations. About the only other one is listen to is Nightside on WBZ because he/she/they/them/A.I. also talks with listeners and it's something different almost every night.
And some of the music she uses as trivia questions......I thought I knew oldies but she's stumped me a couple of times.I don't hear Rollye often, but every time I do, I'm reminded of what a great storyteller she is, and how many great stories she has.

The Old Gringo, or songs you used to hear on Lumberyard 14~Forty? Rollye is to Globe as Nurse Jeff is to Buckeye. Good enuff for me.One thing you quickly learn about Rollye ... she is an absolute expert on Oldies.

I heard a repeat of America's Morning News with Gordon Deal.... And here's where I'll chime in: Last night, Friday 2/20/ listening to WGN 720 AM [over the air of course] to the Rollye James show. ... I'm getting ready to call in only to hear an ID or something about what a fun MONDAY night we're having. If you're going to rebroadcast a show, maybe strip out the parts where you have listeners call in for a prize or ID something, etc. ...
So I believe Yabadabado1 is correct, broadcasters no longer give a s**t about their product.
Yep, unfortunately you're right! Nothing changes except that nothing changes. You make like it's a new thing. Did you ever watch "Bloopers & Practical Jokes?" A lot of us cycle around similar things in radio.
What local "newsman" records his newscasts daily , from his condo- while pretending to be in a "newsroom'?I heard a repeat of America's Morning News with Gordon Deal.
A REPEAT ... of a NEWS program. And toward the end of the show there was a gaff where the announcer began the story, then said, "Let me do it again," and re-started the story. Someone forgot to edit that out.
OK, stuff happens. but to leave it in for the repeat?
And check it out in the Podcast (at 26:30)
They didn't remove it there either.

Press that button on the tape player of a teletype clacking away and you to can be in a "newsroom".What local "newsman" records his newscasts daily , from his condo- while pretending to be in a "newsroom'?
I first heard Rollye when she was Charlie Tuna's newsperson at KHTZ in 1980.Again, music director at KFRC, succeeding the great Carol Archer, and preceding Dave Sholin. Rollye knows her music.
Some of them were over half an hour, easy.If you think this one hour is fudging, you would be AMAZED at the slicing and dicing they did to the Howard Stern show on KLSX back in the day, complete with 12 minute commercial breaks.
For some reason the audio quality of Stern's show on KLSX also always sucked.
Read this article that explains more clearly why it wasn’t edited:Here's another example of today's broadcast "inattention."

BBC apologises for not editing racial slur out of BAFTA Film Awards broadcast
The moment has now been edited for the coverage on iPlayer.www.yahoo.com
If you think you can do better, go shadow a TV tech director and see what’s involved.Deadline has spoken to sources familiar with events on Sunday evening. The recollection of those involved is that Davidson’s comment was not heard in the outside broadcast truck or in the auditorium during recording. Sources said representatives from the BBC, BAFTA, and Penny Lane in the OB truck were unaware of the N-word slur until the story started percolating in media reports and on social media.

So the outside world was fully aware of it while BBC says, "I don't know nothing?""Sources said representatives from the BBC, BAFTA, and Penny Lane in the OB truck were unaware of the N-word slur until the story started percolating in media reports and on social media."
I seem to remember Michael Savage's last hour being some guest doing a monologue with Savage's recorded voice inserted saying "Oh my God", "that's unbelievable" and other wild tracks..If you think this one hour is fudging, you would be AMAZED at the slicing and dicing they did to the Howard Stern show on KLSX back in the day, complete with 12 minute commercial breaks.
