Central Jersey 101.5 HD2 - Beach Radio Gone

Noticed over the weekend that 101.5 HD 2, Beach Radio has disappeared. Wonder why that happened? They had a really good Oldies/Classic Hits mix. Maybe its a technical issue, but 101.5 is still in HD, but no subchannels.

Have you contacted the station: email, checked their app if they have one or old fashioned phone? Some stations actually care about their listeners and will tell when a service will be returned to the air.

I seriously doubt any of their employees who would really know post on this site.

They are still IDing as both 104.9 and 101.5

When did the subchannel disappear? Perhaps it left when the Trenton Thunder season ended? Wasn't the point of 101.5-HD2 to fill the gap when WNJE/920 AM was off the air with the STA? From what FCC records indicate, it returned to the air on 8/30/24. When that happened, did 101.5-HD2 vanish or was it a recent change?

Last I remember was about two weeks ago it was there, so after the Thunder season was well over.

Many HD signals have disappeared over the last several years as owners try to find ways to economize. iHeart had gotten rid of many of its HD subchannels, such as "The Breeze" which had been on about 50 stations. If you are playing music on an HD subchannel, you still have to pay for the rights to use the music. That's true even if few people are listening.

But that doesn't seem to be the case here. Beach Radio is still heard on other frequencies in NJ. So I imagine its absence from WKXW-HD2 is a temporary technical issue. Townsquare still has to pay the music rights for the other stations it's heard on.

Yes, loud and clear on the 96.7 translator after months of silence.
Very good to hear. I enjoy listening to this station summers while at the shore and I missed it last year. Does anyone know if 1310 is the station based out of Asbury Park or Toms River? There’s also 1410 out there along the coast which used to be known as Great Gold that had a decent music mix as well. I think they morphed into a more current playlist but still pretty decent from what I recall. These little stations are much more fun to listen to than anything near me in King of Prussia in my humble opinion.
