KEOS in Bryan/College Station gets a translator

I might have to make the drive over there 1 day and see if it’s actually on. I never heard it on the air before

K212FV has applied to move to 89.9 due to the impending launch of KVVD West Livingston on 90.3:

February 2026
Minor Move & Channel Displacement for Translator K212FV
EXPEDITED PROCESSING REQUESTED
Narrative
FM Translator K212FV is subject to imminent displacement from its current channel due to the new pending co-channel application for KVVD FM, Fac ID: 768207, License-to-Cover.
Application also proposes minor move to a new site at 0.92 km from original location. Due to loss of original tower site, licensee respectfully requests expedited processing in order to complete installation before March 2, 2026.
Preclusion studies of reserve band spectrum at its current location confirms Channel 210 / 89.9 MHz is viable. This frequency, first-adjacent to primary station KPFT, Facility ID.51244, is fully compliant with the Rules at 47 CFR § 74.1203(d), and § 74.1235.
Facility proposes non-directional antenna. Channel Study and contour exhibits included below examines all adjacent, co-channel and IF authorizations, and confirms no prohibited overlap with another other station.
EXPEDITED PROCESSING REQUESTED
Facility is currently on silent authorization. Licensee respectfully requests expedited processing in order to complete installation at new site before March 2nd, 2026.
Consulting engineers are on standby to provide additional details and promptly amend the application as required.

Move of K212FV to 89.9 approved by the FCC today. New call is K210FE. Frequency change is in conjunction with a tower move, so don’t know if it’s on the air yet.

The new KVVD on 90.3 in Livingston is supposedly launching any day now, if it’s not already on the air.

To my knowledge they still haven’t been on the air yet
I have a report from the lake that the "full-powered" 90.3 KVVD is broadcasting, K210FE (new call for the former Pacifica translator) remains silent at 89.9. If that yahoo in Pasa-stinka-dena keeps it as legally licensed, you'll never hear it, @HTX. Shouldn't reach out further than Goodrich south, and if you still hear it by Shepherd, you'll know something is screwy.

It's being monitored by several good folks in Lufkin-Nacogdoches, just waiting to see if the Wild West of Houston translators is attempting a nomadic movement northward.

Nice! One of these nights I should hear it through tropos
