Iowa Hits 99-9 Leaning More 18-34

Taking a listen lately and glancing at their playlist, Hits 99-9 seems to have shifted to the Rhythmic side of Mainstream Top 40. They are still playing the core mainstream tracks but is definitely more Rhythmic than KISS and the Vibe. Kudos to them for tackling the CHR war here with a new angle. For a while they were indistinguishable, so it's nice to hear that they have shifted enough to stand out.

It sounds more 18-34 CHR. The Vibe and KISS are definitely more 18-49. Definitely more hip-hop and dance than the other two outlets. A couple of cool alternative tracks too.

There is nothing about the playlist that appears more Rhythmic about the station. Younger skewing perhaps, especially compared to the fact that most iHeart CHRs are more gold based and this isn't, but out of the last ten songs I'm looking at the moment there's nothing thats even remotely Hip Hop. But instead I do see Tame Impala, Ella Langley, and Sombr along the normal Bruno Mars, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, and Harry Styles.

I think I remember this station vacationing in Des Moines. It seemed pretty cutting edge from what I remember.

I mean on the CHR side of things. They are still rotating extra Kendrick Lamar tracks the others don't play, Chris Brown's latest. They were on the new Kehlani sooner than the other two. Also there was a Zara Larson track earlier. It's sprinkled in there. (Thats how bad the market is here). And I guess I should have clarified what I mean is they are playing the hip-hop, dance tracks from the mainstream chart the others dont seem to touch.
