Buffalo WEBR and 106.9 FM?

Yes, we discussed it in another thread. They bought a translator in Erie:

Buffalo-Niagara Falls – Bill Yuhnke’s Kenmore Broadcasting has filed a $150,000 deal to buy the Grand Island, NY-licensed translator W295BW at 106.9 FM from Reverend Steve Hare’s Priority Radio. It will use the signal to simulcast adult hits WEBR (1440). The station already simulcasts on the Lockport, NY-licensed W287CV at 105.3 FM. It also owns talk WLVL (1340) in the market.

He made more for this translator than all frequencies are worth combined. Including this teapot. The only place they make headlines is on this discussion board

Talk about something relevant, like how they fired their 400th PD today

This is what happens when you business is job a hobby

When you say "Erie" on this board it usually references Erie, PA. The translator is on Grand Island, which is in Erie County NY, but a long way from Erie PA.

Coverage is likely to be good on Grand Island but could be tough in the fringe areas simply because Q-107 on 107.1 is a first adjacent and bangs in there like a local off the CN Tower in Toronto.

Unless a move or some kind of re-engineering is planned, it's probably one of the worst commercial frequency translators in Buffalo.

The height of this antenna will be only 125 feet above ground. It will barely hit Buffalo, if at all. All, for 150K plus the monthly tower lease (Est 700mo x 60 months), electricity, equiptment, so total price for a frequency no one will listen to anyway....about $200,000 . Bill, make ME an offer.

So Buddy, who was their 400th PD?

You may be right but that sounds a bit harsh. There was a time when radio started as a hobby or promotional vehicle for their main business.

Would not surprise me if you had something to do with this wanna-be company. You’re the only one here who brings them up.

They don’t have 400 PD’S more like 15 over the past few years, going back to Don Angelo. I was being facetious

Everything about this company on and off air is inconsistent. I’ll let them keep thinking that someone actually listens.

They started with shots at me many years ago, however, I fight back.

Yuenke called me many times asking “what should we do” “ is this a good idea”? ‘Should I buy this station”? I wasted my time actually talking to him and it was like a was speaking swahealy to him. Clueless

I wish him and his employees that can not get employed anywhere else the best

That pretty much came to an end 100 years ago. By the time the FRC started "real" regulation, even the businesses that had started stations realized they had to sell ads to others. The hobbyist stations pretty much disappeared by around 1927, and the others became businesses, not showpieces.

So, perhaps we should say that Buddy "gets" the reality of radio as a business.

Let's look at it without having to flip between browser tabs:

Big contour is CILQ. Small one is W295BW.

One would have to presume the Toronto station is going to go past that protected contour, likely completely enveloping the translator. For a first-adjacent translator, that is about as bad as it can get without being completely off the air.
