Chris Stigall Leaving Salem

Chris Stigall will be leaving Salem to run for congress in Missouri. His show has been airing 6-9 am on WHK. It will be interesting to see who will replace him. Maybe Hugh Hewitt goes back to that timeslot? There will be some fill-in hosts for a while, including Bob Frantz.

Stigall only started in mornings on the Salem Network in December 2024 after doing the wake up show on Salem's Philadelphia station. I wonder how good his chances of getting the nomination for a House seat are?

Morning host Bill Spadea on WKXW New Jersey 101.5 last year tried to run for governor. But Donald Trump endorsed the Republican who came close to winning in the previous NJ governor's race. Didn't matter. That guy lost by 13 points to Democrat Mikey Sherill. So Spadea was off the air for quite a few months but got his job back after losing the primary.

I doubt Salem would do that for Stigall after it hires his replacement. I also wonder what folks in Missouri will say knowing Stigall has been living in the Philadelphia area all this time. Are his chances so good he'd leave a network radio show? Or is his ego getting in the way of good sense?

Salem has kept a seat warm for Larry Elder on a couple of separate occasions when he has gone on quixotic electoral escapades (running for governor of California and also President). So there's no guarantee he's gone for good.

Party primaries are difficult to handicap. The other candidates in the Missouri 6th primary don't seem all that well known. The seat is geographically huge, basically being the northern third of Missouri, from the northern edges of the St. Louis metro all the way to the northern suburbs of Kansas City. Stigall might be reasonably well known in the KC area due to his time on KCMO. But in Hannibal or Kirksville, who knows.

I didn't watch or listen to him often but Prager seemed to be the least unhinged of them all and was tolerable to listen to.
Dennis Prager would lay out his arguments and opinions in a logical fashion with facts to back them up. He was appointment radio listening for me. It's just too bad that he experienced that catastrophic fall. As of now, the only Salem radio host, locally or nationally, that I listen to regularly is Larry Elder while also checking out Hugh Hewitt on-and-off.

I also like listening to Larry Elder. He's pretty calm most of the time. I just wish WHK aired the first hout live instead of delayed until 9:00 pm.

You mean "delayed until 10:00 p.m.". The first hour of "The Larry Elder Show" airs, pre-recorded, in the 9:00 pm hour.
Once again, money matters. Larry's live first hour, which runs in the 6:00 p.m. hour, is moved to 9:00 p.m. on WHK because The Center For Law and Justice pays to air their full-hour long program in that timeslot.

It is the first hour of Hugh Hewitt who is delayed until 10:00 pm.

The Seculow/ACLJ program on WHK is also delayed - by 6 hours! It airs live at noon on WHKW 1220 (at least the first half hour). Whatever "breaking news" they report is old news by the time it airs at 6:00 pm.

True. However, the ACLJ doesn't care, for this is a way for the Seculow's group to have their program aired for its full hour.
WHK doesn't care because the most important news for the station is that they get to cash the checks.

Initially, it was reported that Jennifer Horn, Mark Davis and Bob Frantz would be filling in for Chris Stigall. But apparently, it is now Carl Jackson instead of Bob Frantz. I wonder what happened?
