"Summer Breeze" Singer Dash Crofts Dies at 85

Dash Crofts was half of the singing duo Seals and Crofts, known for their 70s soft rock, including "Summer Breeze" and "We May Never Pass This Way Again."

Sad to hear this news. Their hits have been a staple of classic hits radio for decades, and influenced the Yacht Rock genre. RIP and enjoy Heaven. Dash is now reunited with Jim forever

While many rock critics didn't take kindly to Seals and Crofts albums while they were alive, I think it is fair to say that in hindsight, like some of the work of The Carpenters, some of the duo's songs, particularly "Summer Breeze," (which I liked) and "Diamond Girl," (which I didn't) continued to be played on 70s-focused classic hits and oldies stations. RIP Dash Crofts!

In the 1970s, WMUL Huntington WV (then the PBS station for Marshall University) signed off with "Summer Breeze" and a montage of everyday scenes. One showed the Huntington Advertiser on someone's doorstep when that verse came along.
