Nebraska NRG exits Lincoln

I can already see which stations will be flipped, if this is allowed to go through…

I probably have a similar train of thought. There's little chance of Connoisseur keeping two classic rock stations. I expect 105.3 to change as these companies rarely flip a station in their existing clusters. Not sure what it would flip to, but that's the logical one to flip both for that reason and because it's more likely to encroach on 104.1's territory. I expect B-107.3 will soften up a little, too, in order to take it out of competition with KFRX. I can't imagine 94.5 will remain Top-40 either.

If Connoisseur does decide to allow for duplicate formats, it will be country. I don't know that's guaranteed, though, as this deal would essentially put nearly all commercial FM's in Lincoln under the same roof. I believe "The Ticket" will be the only general market commercial FM not owned by Connoisseur. In any normal situation, flipping Froggy 98.1 off of country would mean the crosstown competition would swoop in and pick it up, but there would be no competitor to do so should this deal happen.

Red has always been on the more rhythmic side of it, and has gone practically hip hop full-time within the last couple of years. If programmed right, there can be some separation between the two (not to mention two of Red’s former PDs work for Conni), but I likely see just a consolidation of listeners since ‘FRX has the full-powered stick.
