Listened to coverage yesterday at work. It is not the same since channel 5 took over the Marathon but it is still good to follow along and Jeff and Nicole did well. I noticed Kristin was missing because she flies over the course, and then thought about it more. Where is the helicopter lately? A lot of repairs?

Even if
WBZ-TV were still “in charge” of the Marathon, it wouldn’t matter, since, as you probably know, WBZ Radio are TV are no longer co-owned, a travesty in/of itself.
I did know that but I hear a lot of TV content on the radio side. Thought they were still working together.

Gary Robb, the attorney for the family, is a big time attorney based in the KC area.
They do work together, but Radio no longer mentions WBZ-TV; it’s “CBS News Boston”.
Joe Green worked for “another” WBZ - the one once owned by Westinghouse Broadcasting.
In late 1977, WEEI was Newsradio 590, a CBS O&O. Their traffic copter with reporter Chip Whitmore crashed into a building, killing Whitmore and the pilot. But the ‘EEI copter did fly again.
Radio was different then, as we are all too often reminded. Different, but not necessarily better.
