Probably some panel changes account for some of the changes. Both of the Urban ACs were down over a share. WBAV down 1.1, and WOSF down 2.2. I can understand one falling, but not both at the same time.

I do think WLNK losing a lot of coverage with the signal downgrade is helping K, Lake and the Top 40 stations. Will be interesting to see where the rest of the Mix listeners go when they flip. I’m sure Fred is helping HQC as well.

KKT beat SOC in morning drive for the first time in a while. Not sure what’s going on there with them moving Graham B to middays in January, now Sarah Lee hasn’t been on air for over a month and Graham has been doing AMD solo. No announcements about any of it. I’m not a Graham B fan.

I'm surprised the numbers for The Lake actually go lower when you go from 18-34 to 18-49. After all, the music tends to be older.

I'm surprised WPEG does so well 25-54. And K actually does a lot better 18-34 than 18-49.

Millennials still listen to new Hip-Hop and listen to a lot more radio than Gen Z. (T.I.'s - Let Em Know record is a prime example) UAC's core is starting to age out. I see this trend until UAC's start adding more Hip-Hop vs wine and roses music all day. Back in the late 2010's I saw straight ahead urban programmers starting to dip more in the golds when they started seeing that shift to 25-54.

Stations can’t be everything to everybody. R&B is the core sound of Urban AC and what the audience still wants to hear. I’m a millennial, and listen to BAV regularly, and hate all of the TI and club music they’ve been playing recently. The format has to evolve, but remember your base. BAV sounds horrible right now. All over the place.

That's absolutely true, There has to be a balance and if done right it works, unfortunately I don't hear too many UAC's that get the balance correct.
