Curtis Media Acquires Sunrise Broadcasting Wilmington

I had the same thought on pricing. Sunrise owns the majority of its tower sites and land—two of which are in rapidly growing real estate markets. Curious to see the full details.
The Holly Ridge (98.7) and Funston Road (99.9 and 103.7) sites were sold to TowerCo at some point.

Both sites have multiple other broadcast entities besides Sunrise/CBC using the tower.

edit: looks like they may have sold them in December

While Sunrise has been known to stream its radio stations nationwide, Curtis Media Group is known to geofence its streams, especially its music streams, to the particular local market to get around paying fees to the labels and artists. So, goodbye WKXB-FM! It was nice hearing you from Phoenix when you were available.
Do you mean just on apps like iHeartRadio, TuneIn, myTuner, etc? I tried several Curtis-owned stations from western North Carolina where I used to live. While none of them were available on those apps, they all streamed fine on their websites here in southeast NC.

Actually through iheartradio.com and the stations' direct streaming links. It is possible that the geofencing doesn't include your current location (southeastern North Carolina). The situation is similar to that of KOAI-FM, "Wow 95.1," licensed to Sun City West, AZ. While the station can be streamed from Phoenix (where I live) and pretty much anywhere in the state of Arizona (per blurbs on both the site and stream), it *cannot* be heard currently outside of the state.

Great info, I didn’t realize those sites had been sold. That definitely makes the price a bit more interesting.
