Intro: new member from Houston

I am a senior technician involved in CATV, access control, and CCTV for 30+ years, electronics, service, repair, manufacturing, and support for even longer. I collect and restore vacuum tube and solid state hifi equipment. I am currently evaluating FM HD radio monitoring receivers to evaluate the 10.7 MHz IF baseband performance of the FM section of my older tuners and receivers. I was searching eBay for HD radios to modify for this purpose and happened upon 2 Audemat-Aztec GoldenEagle FM HD monitoring receivers. I obtained 2 of them for my testing bench. I am seeking to modify them without butchering them. I am exploring the option of a modification of installing a small Mini-Circuits AE-1L+ balanced mixer board and upconverting the baseband 10.7 MHz IF to an unused FM frequency and using cabling to the antenna input. SMA connectors on the rear of the Golden Eagles for IF, LO and upconverted RF. I have a Marconi 2018 synthesized RF generator to use as an LO.
