Updates on Affiliation Switch from CBS News Radio Closure.

KNX switched to ABC at 2 p.m. PDT today (Thursday), KCBS followed an hour later at 3 p.m. PDT. Anchors at both stations in the minutes leading up to the change explained on-air the changes listeners can expect.

KDTH Dubuque, IA will switch to NBC for both top and bottom hour news tonight at Midnight. They are full service, and carry news 24/7.

Any other changes in the small markets?

Here is the place to hear CBS Radio News for the last time before it gets shut down in 24 hours. You can record this feed for the final time until CBS News shuts down their radio division.

Are you sure about that? CBS Radio News streaming on Audacy app has been the audio of CBS News’ tv streaming channel for a while, not carrying any CBS Radio News programming.

Are you sure about that? I had this stream on earlier today, and have it on as I write this, and they're running audio of the CBS 24/7 streaming service. Have they been breaking for the hourlies all day?

(@Larry posted his as I was finishing up this. Great minds think alike!)

These are the only locations I can find that. But then again it’s clearing off the remaining staff at CBS News Radio division. We seen on the other threads where CBS Radio News ended on Audacy owned stations earlier today or ended on OTA this week around the nation with other local radio station owners changing affiliations prior to Audacy doing the same today.

Two things: (a) I have KCBS on my office tuner, and concurrently I'm streaming the "CBS News Radio" link shown above on headphones. The stream is running the CBS 24/7 continuously and did NOT break for the radio hourly.

(b) KCBS effectively hasn't changed anything in their TOH, except in saying "ABC News covers the world next" instead of "CBS". No more top-of-hour bong, just the ABC sounder. It will take a little getting used to. Also, they only take the first segment of ABC's news, which is a minute shorter than CBS was, so they're into their local content a minute sooner.

Am I the only one who thinks this was Audacy's way of giving the middle finger to the "new" CBS, by dropping CBS a day early?

CBS Radio dies not with a bang, not even with a whimper, but by expiring all alone by themselves. Sad.

Apparently Iheart has an episode of CBS News Roundup for 5/21/2026. This one is still carrying CBS Radio News Content until that shuts down tomorrow. This comes as their former affiliates start changing networks all this week.

Nope. I am thinking the same thing. I guess Salem was weak in their approach after all.

I checked Audacy's WWL/New Orleans at 9pm CT, and they cut to ABC News with Dave Packer.

Ryman Hospitality's WSM/Nashville has switched to NBC News Radio.
