Our tiny little public LPFM in Long Beach, KLBP has grown so much in our diverse programming, our fund raising (without the traditional "beg-a-thons") and status in the community. One thing we've had real success with are events centered around "radio". We did a very successful KNAC "takeover" stunt earlier in the year and a screening of "Hendrie" with a Q & A with Phil. Both events brought a substantial rise in donations and visibility (plus ticket sales for the events)
So I come here looking for ideas for future events. We're working on doing something surrounding some TBA legendary LA radio shows and some full radio station "on air" reunions. Some of the reunion ideas have mortality as it's enemy, but there are a couple we still think we can pull off.
We also have the beautiful Art Theatre in Long Beach available to us for any film related "radio" events.
Anyway - throwing it out there as a "radio discussion" (maybe an event with THIS forum?) and thanks in advance for your input.
