Perhaps Sage Weil is tiring of spending his money running liberal talk on even more of his stations with no return on investment, and switching to oldies isn't an option like they did in Richland Center and others.

So much for their plan to bolster the turnout in the November election.

These transmitters can't cost that much to run. I realize it all adds up, but it's too bad they couldn't keep them running.

Probably something for the balance sheet. We've reached the halfway point of the year, and a number of companies, led by IHM, are cutting expenses heavily, mostly by dropping air talent.

Perhaps the accountant saw taking these stations silent would smooth out the books temporarily.
