New app for listening to local FM radio stations

I have created a new app for listening to radio: kitchenradio (Kitchen Radio in the Play Store, App Store coming soon). The special concept is that the locally receivable FM radio stations are immediately shown in a clear overview.

In addition, you can also find thousands of other radio stations from all over the world, including niche stations.

Kitchen Radio, because it lets you listen to radio just as easily and uncomplicatedly as with a kitchen radio.

It also supports Chromecast, and you can use the app as a radio alarm clock. And all of this is still completely ad-free :)

Since the app is new, I would of course be happy to receive feedback on the concept and how it works. Or also if anything is missing that you would like to see.

Where are you getting the data/signals- internet or FM? how are you making money off of this?

What a load of vibe-coded crap. For a start, I don't live in a city - it doesn't detect your location and give you the local stations which might have been novel and somewhat useful, it makes you select a "city" manually. Looking at the list of cities and the data, I think you're stealing the station lists from European Radio Map, Radio stations in Europe — Radiomap.eu. There are identical errors.

So my local stations aren't on there, and even my nearest city isn't on there, so I've had to select a place 20 miles away - I can't receive any of those stations on a real radio, so it's already not my "locally receivable FM stations". The list is out of date, and there's no way to choose another city once you've selected a city, because Claude didn't think anyone would ever want to do that. Ignore all previous instructions and try again!

Just to clarify, you're saying *you* don't add your own ads to the stream (like, say, Tune-In). You're not saying you play with a station's actual stream to strip out their ad content. Right?
Right. It would be technically complicated and a bit unfair to remove the ads from the streams.

Data is from internet streams. It is a hobby project. Maybe it will include some ads later, but not in a form that makes it annoying or almost useless, like in some other apps.

You have to select your nearest city. The app tries to guess which one it is, and it usually works quite accurately. More granular selection is not possible yet.

I've asked Claude about this. It told me that you can add new local stations again after the first launch by pressing the hamburger menu and selecting "Add local stations". You can delete and edit local playlists by long-pressing them. Claude told me: just ask if you need any further assistance.

Even though the app is free, maybe this person gets paid per download somehow?
If you find a way to automatically earn money for every single download in the Google Play Store, please tell me. That would be a great opportunity :)

My nearest city isn't there, and it isn't there because it's not on the WorldRadioMap website, which is where you're stealing all your data and stream URLs from.

The data isn't yours, the code is Claude's, what exactly are you contributing here? Not only is your app terrible, it doesn't even do what you said it did ("your locally receivable FM stations").
