WMRC screws up for America 250

So WMRC (MyFM 101.3) had something huge planned for this once-in-a-lifetime occasion, and they have already screwed it up big time. They are to play Throwback Nation Radio's America's 250 songs, where they'll be counting down the top 250 songs of all time, but they have already re-aired some of the same songs more than twice. Also, they always have Casey Kasem's American Top 40 on Saturday mornings from 6am-9am. But this morning, the entire 6am-7am hour was nothing but commercials, promos, and weather forecasts, and the same update from Fox News repeating several times. Then from 7am-9am they aired songs 165-155 (I think) of America's 250 songs. And then they went to Yacht Rock Radio, which usually airs on Saturdays from 9-11. Now they're back to airing the 250 songs, but as I said, some of them have already repeated. I think this was supposed to be a 2-day event. I've also heard some special announcements where the audio is completely garbled and understandable.

Sounds more like an equipment issue not a human issue.

Sounds more to me that someone didn't assemble the automation logs correctly ... compounded by the usual weekend "walk away" by station staff.

KRKE is, as we speak, re-airing the AT40 top 100 countdown from 1986 (I always run one of those on Independence Day, and also run one as the countdown to midnight on New Year's Eve) and I hand-edited the log for these eight hours. That's what a PD is supposed to do when specials are scheduled to air.

So, no ... it is a human issue.
