The same owner also owns WSVS in Crewe, which appears to still be on the air.
EDIT: He is also in his late 70s, so retirement seems very reasonable.

That's totally understandable. Don't know the gentleman, but sounds like he's been in/at it for a while, still got RF in his body, so to speak.

David Gee the owner said he plans to keep WSVS on the air, but we have all heard that tale before. Like "No changes are planned".

Yes and that was mentioned above.
Yes we have and reckon we'll see. Thinking out loud, need to check and see if they have an online presence.
WSVS had (or has) a website.
This is probably one of the rare situations where the small-town station doesn’t get the short shrift. For those of you who’ve been to Crewe, there’s maybe 2000 people there soaking wet. Combine that with Burkeville (about 1000 non-imprisoned people) and Nottoway C.H., and all the country in between, there’s probably 5-7,000 who rely upon WSVS as their local station, with local news, obituaries, sports, and the like. Not to mention the 20,000 or so in Farmville or Blackstone who usually use ‘SVS on 97.1 as their second-choice country station
I know someone who has ties to WSVS. I will see if they can provide some insight.
WSVS morning man, Brandon Adams was replaced by Gorden Finney (from WHAP) last Monday. Adams now becomes GM. Website down, Facebook page still up. Other things there are as normal as they can get.

If you mean "Streaming" without being on the air, why not? But by all indications, both the AM & Translator are still on the air and no application to the FCC has been files with the FCC (yet) according to the FCC LMS.
PS: You are NOT ignorant. It takes a PHD to figure FCC Rules & Regulations today, now that they are written with Auto Pen in a loose-leaf binder.

LOL, thanks, but what I meant is, how can they stream without a website? 'SVS is on the air, but not online, save for the stream and maybe a Facebook page, right?
